Wuzhen Watertown

We went to Wuzhen which was about a two hour drive. Unfortunately we got stuck in a massive traffic jam. Locals in other buses, vehicle and even on the street were waving and giving peace signs to us. It was pretty cool. We sure stick out like sore thumbs here.

Wuzhen is like a really small cheap Venice. Locals make cotton and dye it. It's a pretty neat process. We didn't buy anything. We took a gondola like boat ride and strolled through town it was rushed because we were so late. It was pretty cool looking in through open doors and watching the locals watch us. One gentleman watching us was 96.

Most places seem to have it in there heads that $40 to us is nothing so that is the bare minimum. They set the price based on what they think tourists might pay rather than what it's worth locally. I love to haggle with the locals over price but I won't get ripped off, the key is to pretend you don't care about the object..... It's tough when Johanne is freaking out for me to buy it.

We see the same package of ten chopsticks individually wrapped ranging anywhere from 10RMB to 30RMB. Three times difference for the same thing and people have been buying for 5 and are still likely getting ripped. But it's only $1 to us so why fuss Hahahaha it's the game here.
